"Consistency in not only training but everything is what makes you a better athlete."
Consistency In Action
Evan Jager is a professional distance runner, sponsored by Nike and coached by Jerry Schumacher as a member of the Bowerman Track Club. Evan was born and raised in Algonquin, Illinois and ran collegiately at the University of Wisconsin-Madison for one year before leaving the NCAA to run professionally.
Since then, Evan has been fortunate enough to have a successful career with most of the focus being on the Steeplechase. In that event, Evan has won 7 US titles, a World Championship Bronze medal, an Olympic Silver medal and is the current American record holder at 8:00.45. Evan lives in Portland, OR with his wife Sofia and they enjoy traveling together in the little bit of downtime Evan gets after the track season.
In this episode, Nick and Camala talk with Evan about going pro at the age of 19, overcoming injuries and the importance of consistency.
